For the last 29 years, every Memorial Day weekend, a rather unique contest is held on the grounds of the state capitol. Anyone with a story to tell is welcomed onto the stage for a chance for the title of "Biggest Liar" of West Virginia and a coveted trophy: the golden shovel. This contest was created by Ken Sullivan and he still serves as emcee. Here he tells a little about how the contest came to be and the need for story.
